The Memory

There was a kind of magic in slow Sunday mornings with my son. No alarms, no rush, just the two of us, still in our pajamas, padding into the kitchen with sleepy eyes and big appetites. He always knew exactly what he wanted: a warm, flaky pain au chocolat, straight from the oven, the chocolate still gooey in the middle.

The scent would fill the kitchen almost instantly, rich, buttery pastry mingling with the deep, velvety aroma of melted chocolate. He’d sit on the counter, little legs swinging, impatiently watching as I carefully placed them on a plate, always warning him to let them cool, not that he ever listened! That first bite was always the best. His eyes would light up, chocolate smudging the corners of his mouth, followed by that little satisfied hum of happiness.

Those mornings were simple, but they meant everything, just the warmth of home, the smell of fresh pastries in the air, and the quiet, perfect joy of being together. Lighting Pain Au Chocolat brings it all back, the buttery sweetness, the comforting scent of something special baking, and the memory of my son, grinning through a mouthful of chocolate, as if life couldn’t possibly get any better. And in that moment, it really couldn’t.

How to use



To ensure you enjoy your candle safely, always burn it within sight. Never leave a lit candle unattended, and keep it away from anything flammable such as curtains, furniture, or papers.

Before each use, trim the wick to around 5mm. This helps prevent an overly large flame, excessive smoke, and ensures a clean, even burn. For best results, allow the wax to melt fully across the surface on the first burn to avoid tunnelling.

Always place your candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface. Avoid burning your candle near open windows, fans, or drafts that could cause uneven burning or sooting.

Keep candles out of reach of children and pets. Stop using the candle when about 10mm of wax remains at the bottom to prevent overheating the container.
